It's been a year.
Time didn't have such heft when we were younger.
Every second brings us closer to the mysterious final year.
“We know not the day nor the hour; only the Father knows,” a Christian yogi once said.
Uncertainty never leaves.
Living and dying are neither good nor bad. We all end up the same.
Fear will taint your experience while you're here.
You, a divine being, will never cease.
You're not a mind. You're not a body. With the grace of yoga, fear will have no power over you. Here’s how: keep practicing yoga!
Living, dying, same-same. Let’s stop the anti-aging nonsense and enjoy our journeys. Instead of anti-aging, be pro-aging, pro-living, and pro-dying. We have no choice in the matter so accept the entirety with humility and gratitude.
No more fear. Be ok with not knowing when, where, or how. Trust.
Let's make that our mantra for 2023 as we live vibrantly, consciously, and with love.
Tomorrow (Tuesday), we will celebrate the Winter Solstice with a *free* class at 7 p.m. It will be a yin class. Beginners are welcome. It will be a slower-paced class where we remain in yoga poses for 3-4 minutes.
You will need props to enjoy the benefits of this class. Bring throw blankets, bed pillows, large-sized towels, and sofa pillows if you don't own yoga blocks/blankets/bolsters.
Please let me know by noon tomorrow, December 20th, if you plan to attend. I will send you the Zoom link in the afternoon.
The next newsletter will be sent out on January 2nd. Wishing you a beautiful Yuletide Season and a Prosperous New Year.
Our four-week "Yoga for Healthy Aging" series starts on January 3rd from 7 - 8:15 p.m. on Zoom. The dates are 1/3, 1/10, 1/17, and 1/24. $65 for four classes.
We will work on our mobility, balance, and flexibility. Beginners welcome. All sessions are recorded to accommodate you if you miss the live training or desire to do the class again.
I will provide links on my new website to sign up and pay over the next week. If you prefer mailing a check, please reply to this newsletter or email me at [email protected] for the address.
Our book club meets on Thursday, January 12th, at 7 p.m. on Zoom. The book is “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron. The link to sign up will be on my website soon. Hope to see you there!
Oh my goodness I can hardly wait to read this! I have lost both my sisters this year, one niece, a cousin who was a best friend, and one of my sweet chihuahuas. I have been in a dark hole trying to get some traction to get out!
