Ilona...at first (after the election) I wanted to hide under the covers, but as things got more and more absurd and dangerous (Elon Musk, for instance) I knew I couldn't do that. I'm in the process of contacting every Senator (I take on around 10 a day) and will continue with the Representatives for each state. I also belong to our local chapter of Dems and attended some meetings and volunteer opportunities last summer/fall. Keep going. We cannot stand by with our hands in our pockets.
Thank you, Ilona, for this post. Home with the flu this week, and reading a great book which is giving me fuel to get beyond this flu, but also start fighting back. Your post is just what the doctor ordered. We aren't in Kansas anymore, Toto. 💕
Ilona Goanos: Thank you for all of this, especially from one of my favorites, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
I am so very thankful for persons as AOC.
As Joyce Vance says, "We are in this together!"
Joyce Vance points out that lawsuits are beginning against the administration.
An administration lasts only four years.
The litigation is importation resistance, because, come what may on appeal, we can begin again with legislation, and tie the foe up in defending itself against injunctions.
In today's column, Joyce Vance has listed a few Federal court actions.
Protests by Senate and House leaders must be accompanied by action, especially action in Federal Court.
Good letter. AOC and Jasmine are my heroes in the House. If we had embraced the values and messages of AOC and Bernie, we could have had a White House for the people. Now we have President Musk tearing apart our government and TV President Trump distracting us with nonsense like "Mar a Gaza". There will be more BS from the TV president - probably attacking Europe and/or Australia and withdrawing from NATO - but that's the "reality" show.
The real show is Musk and Thiel taking the keys to the kingdom. I watched AOC. Then my Senator Warren popped up. Proud of her. Then I heard Jasmine Crockett. Yeow.
My other current hero in the Senate is Chris Murphy of CT. The nation is slowly waking up to this coup.
But I fear that there will need to be personal harm to the MAGA bigots and the sleepyheads who didn't vote (all 89 million) - financial pain - before we dump these thieves.
We will all suffer during this, but especially the most vulnerable. The corporations will do what they do when unrestricted, and there's no nice way to say it: people will get hurt and die. The non-voters, especially those who were mad about Gaza, well, you got played.

Ten a day! You are amazing, Linda, and an inspiration. Keep up the great work. Together, we've got this.

I'm sorry you're sick. Please take care of yourself. We need you fit for the fight!
Once again, thank you, Ilona.
"Reading headlines is not being informed."
Yes, 100%

Representative Greene of Texas will file articles of impeachment against Trump's for his recent Gaza comments. Third time is a charm!
Ilona Goanos: It was pitiful to see Speaker Michael Johnson with a weak smile say that Trump's plan for Gasa is hopeful for peace there . . .
My Goodness. My 1958/1959 editions of "Mad Magazine" -- Alfred E. Neumann, "What me, worry!" had read better than current events.
Jay Kuo expands, today, on points that Joyce Vance had made about new litigation against DOGE etc.
Litigation is where it is at, I am convinced.
Meanwhile, keep itching that Pebble in the Shoe. You are an inspiration to me and I lovingly read all you write.
