You have put into words what I have been feeling lately, especially since my boys were here visiting over the holidays. Thank you, Ilona, it's so good to know it's not just me.
It's definitely not just you. I see an occasional parent trying to control their children's holidays or act as if their children owe them something. I don't want my kids to cringe when I call them, or avoid me. I want what's the best for them, even if that's not always me.
You are a treasure Ilona. I am an unpaid, undeserving leach of your light & goodness. As of 1-1-2024, I plan to dive into my own writing (book?) Giving up 99% of social media. Any advice would be welcome. ❤️wjh
You're so funny, Wanda. You're not a leech at all, and I treasure anyone who can endure my writings. I'm so excited that you are writing a book! I want to do the same, and I think Medium will be on the chopping block as well. Can't wait to read your book, dear Wanda.
Dear One! Thanks for this heart opening and lovely story...I relate to everything you share here! I have twin daughters and a son, all grown now and one beautiful daughter who was taken from me and is lost to us and probably is not even aware that she has a complete family with us. But the transition to independence for each of my children was messy, drama filled and heart breaking...which was something I would never have expected and certainly din’t see coming because of the loving closeness and bond with each child when they were “growing up.” We now have wonderful relationships between me and each child and between all of us...but it was a harrowing ten years. This journey of life can be so sweet...and i still believe that the bond of love we share with our children is much deeper and more profound than we know during our children’s younger years. Kudos to you for being the ever loving mother...both you and your children are blessed by your loving relationship!
