Jenny's perspective on art as a way to 'birth something of value' is so powerful. It makes me wonder, what hidden potential lies dormant within us, waiting for the right moment to emerge? And how can we create the conditions to nurture and unleash that creative energy in ourselves and others?
Everyone needs a Jenny in their life to help on the journey. I don't know when it started for me, but I know that being in a calm unhurried state of mind helps!
"Creating is inherently feminine, rooted in nurturing, intuition, and the birth of new ideas. That's not to say that creativity isn't a universal ability.

"I always aim to meet people where they are to help them "birth" something of value, which could lead to much more birthing."
These are values that were reflected in the writings of the great German writer, Johanna Moosdorf (1911-2000), who lost her dear husband, Paul Bernstein, to Auschwitz.
Her novels "Girlfriends" ("Freundinnen") and "A Century's Dreams" ("Jahrhundertträume") depicted societies with Women who love Women, who as long ago as the witch-trials, would give their lives for one another. (Moosdorf used the witch trials as a preview of the genocidal Third Reich.)
In "Freundinnen" and "Jahrhundertträume", the values are those of Feminism, with Society being administered for the freedom, dignity and support of each person, with each person having agency for her own choices.
The ideas of Jenny Santa Maria have a long history in the fine arts, and I love how you and she shared so richly of this beautiful concept and heritage.
I will check out Moosdorf. Thank you for enlightening me to her writing. I am looking forward to collaborating with Jenny and her brilliance. Thanks Armand for the education.
Ilona Goanos: I don't write as much as I wish, because I have OCD and stack up objectives -- mostly in German language and in literature/philosophy. But Johanna Moosdorf is one of the beautiful writers who inspire me, and I hope to do a feature on her work.
I would love to see more about your retreat, but I can't seem to navigate to the space where it is posted. The Greeks had, and have, a unique perspective to be admired and reflected upon. Thank you.
Beautiful! I don't think of myself as creative-at least not in arts like drawing/painting (although I'm excellent at coloring in the lines in a coloring book 😉) A art-ish creative friend told me recently that I was creative, in different ways-musically, writing so creativity is I guess how you express yourself and in that way everyone is creative! And...I want to see a picture of your painted egg Ilona!
Sounds lovely.

What you're doing with these retreats sounds so magical! I love going along vicariously. Thank you Ilona for your creativity!
Thanks, Kirie! You're welcome any which way you want to come along.
Amazing. Girls' trips are my fave. Bookmarking for later!
Yay and me, too!
