Meet Mike.
I don't mean to mess with you on a Monday morning by sending you my newsletter two days early, but it's for a practical reason. Today, I am releasing my interview with a gentleman named Mike Mauren from a popular podcast called "Rational Boomer."
Mike requested that I come on his show to return the favor, so on Saturday, we talked for over an hour. Mike's show with me as a guest airs today (Monday) on the Rational Boomer podcast (links are at the bottom), and I'm simultaneously posting my interview with him for all listeners to access.

At the beginning of the pandemic, I encountered Mike on TikTok. He's a no-fluff guy, and the platform proved a perfect venue for him to explain politics in an easy-to-understand way.
I had forgotten what I learned in Civics class, and I admit to being an apathetic citizen for many years. However, that changed when Trump got into office.
Through current national events, Mike taught me a lot about how our government works and doesn't. He does this for fun because he so clearly enjoys sharing what he knows.
Mike makes his videos and podcast production look easy. He had a career in radio for many years, and this retirement hobby has been a natural fit.
I enjoy listening to him because he is not fearful about our country's future.
He is hopeful democracy will make it through this crisis like we have historically so many times before.
He calls his program "Rational Boomer," not because that's his identity but because that's who we are collectively. Mike shifts the power back to us, the wise and experienced older generation who want Trump removed from our newsfeeds for good.
With each new calamity, Mike’s soothing voice walks me away from the cliff's edge with a message of hope. I love being a part of change with other listeners who share the same view.
I was nervous about asking Mike to be on my fledgling podcast because I thought he might say yes, and then (gulp) he did! Mike's a big deal on TikTok and YouTube, with 323,300 and 346,000 subscribers, respectively. It was a fun, light-hearted conversation because he immediately put me at ease.

I just listened to your podcast with Mike and then listened to it again with my husband. We don't know Mike over here so it's good to hear that there are people who think the same about Trump as we do. I was beginning to wonder if America had completely lost its marbles as it's hard to see why anyone in their right mind would vote for such a vile man. Well done on getting the interview Ilona, it was interesting to listen to his social media journey too.
