You deserve an award for this piece @Ilona, it is shockingly true and touches us all with gritty truth. How you so elegantly describe each element is a testament to your genius talent. You are awakening a part of you that is itching to express itself. Your style of writing is intimate and informative at the same time. Thanks Ilona.
I've had a difficult relationship with my body because of a chronic illness, and I love the idea of writing poems to various body parts as a way of getting reacquainted and learning to accept, love even, these fragile parts of ours. That Marge Piercey poem is something else! I hadn't come across that one before. Thanks for sharing!
The eight-week course just finished, and it was a beautiful sacred gathering of like-minded women. I loved every minute. It created a shift in me. Thanks for taking the time to read/comment.
Sitting with my hand on my heart with such love and appreciation for your courage, your post, and your presence in the workshop. 🙏
Thank you, teacher. You are an inspiration.
Thank you. I look forward to reading your work here-- or wherever ever you are called to share it:)
