You deserve an award for this piece @Ilona, it is shockingly true and touches us all with gritty truth. How you so elegantly describe each element is a testament to your genius talent. I've had a difficult relationship with my body because of a chronic illness, and I love the idea of writing poems to various body parts as a way of getting reacquainted and learning to accept, love even, these fragile parts of ours. That Marge Piercey poem is something else! I hadn't come across that one before. Thanks for sharing!

The eight-week course just finished, and it was a beautiful sacred gathering of like-minded women. I loved every minute. It created a shift in me. Thanks for taking the time to read/comment.

I am 52 and found out on 3/8/24 that i have a meniscus tear and extreme osteoarthritis in my left knee. Wow, Ilona- this spoke to me and gave me perspective of my years of physical activity and how I should love & appreciate all its done for me thus far! Thank you ma’am
